Description

Delicious crispy puff pastry bites filled with fresh spinach and feta cheese, perfect for any gathering.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package of frozen puff pastry
  • 200g fresh spinach
  • 100g feta cheese
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 egg (for brushing)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C (392°F).
  2. Sauté the onion and garlic in a pan with olive oil for about 2-3 minutes until translucent.
  3. Add the washed spinach and sauté briefly until wilted. Remove from heat.
  4. Crumble the feta and mix it with the warm spinach, seasoning with salt and pepper.
  5. Roll out the puff pastry about 0.5 cm thick and cut into squares (approximately 10×10 cm).
  6. Place a generous spoonful of the spinach-feta mixture in the center of each square.
  7. Fold the edges carefully together and press them lightly with a fork to seal.
  8. Brush with beaten egg for a golden finish.
  9. Arrange the bites on a baking sheet and bake for about 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  10. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

Make the filling a day ahead and store it in the fridge for enhanced flavor. Fill the pastry just before baking to maintain crispiness.
